The action of this cute comedy is set during World War 1 and the plot is based on the legend of the notorious Mata Hari. Lili Smith an English music-hall star, alias a German spy Lili Schmidt (Julie Andrews), is given a task to get military secrets out of the amorous Major William Larabee (Rock Hudson), a brave well-informed American squadron commander. The wonderful music and songs performed by the brilliant Julie Andrews will leave nobody untouched. The film was an Oscar nominee for the best costume design. 107 min.
