A lonely, middle-aged college professor (Julian Sands) gets more than he bargained for when he attempts to spice up his tired existence by heading for Las Vegas and starting an affair with his best friend's daughter (Katharine Towne). When his love turns into obsession, the professor finds Vegas becomes a frightening place where secrets, desire and coincidence point the way towards destruction.
